A word of Welcome

Dear colleagues,

As the acting President of the Aruban Nurses Organization O.D.E.A., I would like to welcome you to our website, the most innovative way in communication, which we have chosen to connect with you our member and with the World.

Accepting to be the president of O.D.E.A., was a decision taken after a successful accomplishment as the Conference Director of the 27th Biennial CNO - Conference held in 2010 in Aruba. This challenge was taken up, 3 months before the Conference’s date, then being the secretary of the Aruba Nurses Organization and at the same time Conference Director.

It was an assignment to a function, which I did not even imagine at all that I was about to experience. The greatest challenge was not only having to manage this Conference up to the end, but moreover having to uphold my character, while dealing with colleagues from different countries, their expectations, characters and behaviors.

Here for I thank God, having installed trust and guidance in me, enabling me to accomplish this mission, with enormous support from my colleagues, who stayed at my side. The “Yes we can Team” demonstrated that we are Nurses from the heart and are willing to do all for our country also when performing our profession as a nurse. We hosted our guests, on the beautiful, warm Aruba, “One Happy Island”. They are and were to us special guests, all in their own special way.

O.D.E.A. was founded on the 18th of January 1979 by a group of nurses with the same vision, efforts continued by other colleagues who during the following years worked hard to win the respect of the government and institutions in the healthcare locally and to put our mission into practice. With that, this year we celebrated our 23rd anniversary and are proud to be the Nurse’s Organization representing the largest profession in the Health Care on our island.

As the acting president of O.D.E.A., I with this invite you to enjoy our website, search for your needs, however not withholding to inform us what we have omitted and how we can increase the usage of this website efficiently as well as effectively, in order to reach every nurse and also enabling us to determine how together we can keep the respect of our profession highly.

I also thank you for being a member, supporting the mission of our Organization and for visiting our website.  Being the case, that you aren’t a member as yet, you can download the registration form and e-mail it to us, after having filled out this form completely.

Yours truly,

Mrs. Sharlyn Tromp - Farro, RN Dialysis,

President O.D.E.A.
